BlackBerry To Launch Block-Shaped Passport Phone By September

BlackBerry is set to launch a new phone into the market, the BlackBerry Passport, by September in London. The odd-looking device is going to look like a real passport, block-shaped and big in the hand. At a wide 3.18 inches wide, the phone will be quite unwieldy whilst been held and used and is even wider than the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
The BlackBerry Passport will have a 4.5-inch 1440 x 1440 screen with a pixel density of 453ppi. According to a report, it will be packing a quad-core Snapdragon MSM8974 processor backed by an Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel back camera and will be also powered by a 3,450mAh battery. Oddly, BlackBerry has elected to put a physical keyboard on the Passport.
The Passport will be launching in September alongside two other phones, the BlackBerry Z3 and the Classic. What do you think of BlackBerry releasing new phones into the market when they old phones aren’t selling that well, especially phones whose form factor deviates so much from what people know and are comfortable with? Well, let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait for the BlackBerry Passport to eventually get launched.
